The Port City Soccer Club offers a developmental
league for children ages 3-13 (Under 4 thru Under 14 age
groups) in the fall and the spring. Games are played
at the beautiful Olsen
Farms Soccer Fields located on Murrayville Road
and now games in Hampstead
at Kiwanis Park on Sloop Point Road. Children practice
once per week (the day and practice location is decided
by each coach and also dictated by field availability) traditionally
from 6:15-7:15, with their respective teams. Optional training
sessions (free clinics) led by our
professional coaching staff, are available
for every child in the club if they desire.
Our league is unique. We specialize in the
development of young soccer players! Participants
are offered a fun and challenging learning environment that
other soccer leagues cannot match! Each season the number
of participants will be limited to ensure that each child
is offered the best experience possible. One of our goals
is not to be the biggest soccer club.....it is to be the
best! Our primary mission is simple....to teach sportsmanship,
character, soccer skill, and a passion for playing the game
to our local youth!
Port City Soccer Club
coaching philosophies and curriculums
are designed by our professional coaching staff for all
age groups. Coaches are provided a curriculum with each
week's practice session and topic. Coaches utilize our curriculums
to ensure that each child is being taught in the same manner
and that they are learning age appropriate skills.
End-of-season skills tests provide our players and coaches
with realistic and fun goals to strive for! Our Port City
Soccer Club staff coaches are on site during recreational
practices to lend a hand to our volunteer coaches and to
ensure that curriculums are being followed. Children who
participate in the Port City Soccer Club are a part of more
than a soccer league. They are a part They are a part of
a FUN, EXCITING, AND CHALLENGING SOCCER SCHOOL!
As you can see below, another huge benefit
of participating in the Port City Soccer ClubÁs Developmental
League is the low coach to player ratio per team. Anyone
who has previously coached younger players (ages 10 and
younger) will surely understand that lowering the coach
to player ratio makes the practice and game environment
more manageable and creates an accelerated learning environment
for the kids. A smaller number of players at practices and
at games means each player touches the ball more and makes
more game-like decisions. It also allows parents on the
sidelines to actually see the ball without a swarm of kids
around it and more playing time for each kid. This is why
they participate. TO PLAY!!!
