Coaching

The Port City Soccer Club is proud to offer our members one of the most experienced and qualified youth coaching staffs in the country.  Our professional coaching staff takes pride in our ability to teach the young ones as well as educate the volunteer parent coaches! Positive reinforcement, the ability to learn and experiment free of criticism, and a commitment to coaching education are essentials of our COACHING PHILOSOPHY. The heart of our program and your child's experience is a responsibility reserved for our volunteer coaches. Our volunteer coaches receive training on a year round basis, free of charge. Coaches are required to attend our Port City Soccer Club Coaches' Training held at the beginning of each season to ensure they have the knowledge to enhance every childÍs learning experience. Age specific curriculums, "end of season learning goals" and skill testing allow our coaches to assist every child in attaining the necessary skill development to play at the next level. Professional coaches' education licensing courses are also available and strongly encouraged for all Port City Soccer Club coaches. On a year round basis, our professional coaching staff holds optional skills clinics for children in the club! In addition to our year round coaching education clinics, our free player skills clinics provide our volunteer coaches weekly opportunities to come out and learn new and exciting techniques and ideas to take back to their own teams!

As many of you may have experienced, teaching ages ten and younger is a not an easy task. It takes experience, knowledge, and tons of enthusiasm to provide an entertaining and positive learning environment for the little ones.
